    Johnson County Community College sophomore Paige Elston will continue her athletic and academic careers at the University of Arkansas Fort Smith in Fort Smith, Ark. The 5-5 guard from Lee’s Summit, Mo. (Lee’s Summit HS) signed a national letter-of-intent to play for the Lady Lions and head women’s basketball coach Tari Cummings. UAFS finished 10-17 last year and 7-7 in the Heartland Conference

    The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) recently announced its 2019 All-America players for two-year schools, and Johnson County Community College sophomore guard Jacionna Stowers was an honorable mention selection. She is the 13th player in team history be honored as a WBCA All-American, and first since Erica Nelson in 2016. She is the 11th player to be selected under head coach Ben Conrad.
  • Three Lady Cavaliers earn all-conference recognition

    The Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference announced their 2018-19 basketball all-conference teams recently, and four members of the Johnson County Community College women’s basketball team were recognized. Sophomore guards Paige Elston and Jaci Stowers were second-team selections, and freshman forward KK Jackson-Morris earned third-team honors.

    The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) released its women’s and men’s basketball polls for Division II yesterday, and both Johnson County Community College appeared in the top 10. The Lady Cavaliers (18-0) remained the No. 1 team for the fifth straight poll and 50th time in school history, while the men (15-3) moved to over the No. 10 spot, moving up two spots from last week’s poll.

    The Johnson County Community College women’s basketball improved to 17-0 on Wednesday night with a 97-75 win over MCC-Penn Valley at UMKC’s Swinney Recreation Center. The Lady Cavaliers also remained the No. 1 ranked team in NJCAA Division II women’s basketball for the fourth consecutive poll.
