JCCC’s Klinge named Co-KJCCC D-II Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County Community College sophomore guard Jazzy Klinge has been named Co-Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for week 15, announced by the conference office today. This the third time this season Klinge has been chosen for this honor. She also was selected in weeks six and eight.  She shared the honor with Garneisha Love of Highland Community College.

Klinge averaged a double-double of 15.5 points and 13.0 rebounds along with 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals to help to a pair of conference victories. She also shot a blistering 71 percent from the field, hitting 12-of-17 shots. Klinge opened the week with 23 points and 11 boards to help JCCC to a 79-43 win over Labette and clinch the conference title for 2023-24 

For the season Klinge is averaging 11.6 points and 9.8 rebounds per game. She leads the conference in both rebound average and total rebounds (273). She also leads the conference and NJCAA in field goal accuracy, making 65 percent of her field goal tries. 

Klinge has reached double figures 16 times this season, second most on the team, and topped double digits in rebounds a team-best 14 times. She also leads the team with 14 double-doubles.  Earlier this season in a win at Southeast on January 7, Klinge established new career highs for points with 24 and rebounds with 17.
