OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The No. 5-ranked Johnson County women's basketball team improved to 54-0 in the all-time series with Hesston after handing the Larks an 83-36 loss the Yost Center in Hesston, Kan., Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Cavaliers jumped out to 23-5 lead after the first period, and led 43-15 at halftime.  Johnson County shot 53 percent in the first period and 60 percent in the second. They finished the game shooting 44 percent overall. 

Sophomore forward KK Jackson-Morris posted her best game of the season, finishing with a season-high 25 points. She hit 10-of-21 shots, including three 3-pointers and two free throws. She also grabbed six rebounds. 

Also in double figures were freshman guard Jaylen Townsend with 14, freshman forward LaJahda Boyland with 12 and sophomore guard Krystal Rice with 10. 

Freshman forward Le'Yanna McGinnis finished with eight points and a eight boards, and sophomore guard Christen Curry also had eight rebounds along with six points. 

Hesston's leading scorer was Jordyn Brakes with eight points. 

Johnson County travels across town to take on No. 8-ranked Kansas City Kansas on Wednesday night, then return home to host No. 3-ranked Highland on Saturday, February 8 at 2 p.m.
