OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The No. 1-ranked Johnson County Community College women's basketball team closed out its non-conference schedule for 2018-19 with an 89-45 win at Westminster College JV on Friday night, Jan. 18, to improve to 20-0 on the season.
Freshman forward KK Jackson-Morris and sophomore guard Paige Elston powered the Lady Cavaliers offense each pouring in 14 points. Jackson-Morris hit 5-of-9 shots and all four free throws. Elston was 5-of-8 and also 4-of-4 at the line.
Sophomore guard Jacionna Stowers continued her climb up the career 3-point basket chart at JCCC. She hit 5-of-11 shots, including three 3-pointers, to raise her season total to 56 and career total to 151, fourth-most in team history. Her 56 made 3-pointers this year rank eighth in the NJCAA.
Freshman forward Julia Johnson flirted with a double-double finishing with nine points and a game-high seven rebounds. Freshman guard Jess Myers contributed six points and five assists, and freshman guard Nay Dawson added eight points.
