Balanced scoring lead JCCC women’s basketball to victory at Neosho County

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The No. 1-ranked Johnson County women's basketball team used a balanced scoring attack as they defeated Neosho County 76-61 Saturday afternoon in Chanute, Kan. The Lady Cavaliers move to 23-0 overall and to 6-0 in conference play.

Maizen Williams and Saige Grampsas set the tone in the first half as they combined 10 and nine points respectively to help JCCC build a double-digit lead after two quarters. Williams went to finish with a team-high 16 points followed by Grampsas with 15 on five made 3-point baskets.

Jazzy Kinge and Micah Landry also posted double figures scoring each pouring in 11 points. Landry also hauled down a game-high eight rebounds. 

Taliyah Scott was masterful running the offense as she dished out a season-high 10 assists to go along with seven points and Yar Manyiel provided seven points and seven boards off the bench for the Lady Cavaliers.

Johnson County continues conference play with week with a road trip to Highland on Wednesday, February 7 followed by a home matchup with KKCCC on Saturday, February 10. Tip is scheduled for 2 p.m.
