OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County has been the stingiest defense in NJCAA Division II women's basketball, and they showed Hesston how they have earned that distinction. This is the second time in the history of the series JCCC has held Hesston to just 28 points. The last time was December 11, 2010, a 95-28 victory.

Hesston kept it close in the first quarter, only trailing the Lady Cavaliers by four at 19-15.

Head coach Ben Conrad got his team fired up before the start of the second quarter and JCCC responded by holding the Larks to a combined 13 points the rest of the game. Hesston was held to four points in the second, three in the third and six in the fourth.
