Four starters score in double figures in 92-48 win over Fort Scott

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Four starters scored in double figures as the No. 4-ranked Johnson County women's basketball team raced to a 92-48 D-II Kansas Jayhawk Conference victory over Fort Scott on Wednesday evening.  

Sophomore guard Nariyah Simmons tallied 20 points and six rebounds for the Lady Cavaliers who improved to 17-0 overall and 2-0 in the KJCCC. Jayla Bibbs led the Lady Greyhounds to fell to 10-8 overall and 0-2 in the conference.  

Sophomore guard Mackenzie Hart followed with 16 points along with eight rebounds and six assists which both led the team. Sophomore forward LaJahda Boyland and sophomore guard Aryannah Harrison each contributed 11 points. 

Head coach Ben Conrad also got solid effort off his bench from freshman guard Saige Grampsas, sophomore guard Janaya Washington and freshman guard Grace Lynch. Grampsas contributed nine points, five rebounds and five assists.  Washington finished with eight points, six boards and two assists and Lynch tallied six points and seven rebounds.   

Johnson County will continue conference play on Saturday, January 21 when they host the No. 8-ranked Labette Cardinals (13-2/2-0) at 2 p.m.
