Grampsas has career night in JCCC women’s basketball victory

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County Community College sophomore guard Saige Grampsas had a career night while leading the No. 1-ranked Lady Cavaliers to an 81-56 victory over North Arkansas Tuesday night, extending the team's home court win streak to 64 straight victories.

Grampsas poured in 26 points knocking down 8-of-15 3-point attempts, both setting new career highs. Her eight treys place in a tie for third all-time in history for made 3-point baskets in a game. Grampsas also dished out nine assists which is also a new career standard.

Grampsas leads the team in scoring this season with a 13.2 per game average. She also has reached double figures in 16 of 21 games, which also leads the team. 

Also finishing in double figures were freshman guard Taliyah Scott with 13 points and sophomore forward Grace Lynch with 11. 

Sophomore guard Jazzy Klinge continued to dominate the glass, hauling down 12 caroms. She also hit 3-of-4 shots for six points. 

Freshman forward Amani Henry flirted with posting double-double finishing with 10 rebounds and nine points. She also blocked two shots.

Johnson County (21-0 / 4-0) hits the floor again tonight when the host Hesston College (11-8 /1-3) in a KJCCC D-II matchup. Opening tip is schedule for 5:30 p.m. The Lady Cavaliers have never lost to the Larks, winning all 63 meetings. Their last two meeting at JCCC resulted in losses of 112-25 and 91-37.
