No. 4 JCCC prevails 65-61 in OT over No. 8 Labette

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The No. 4-ranked Johnson County women's basketball team needed overtime to remain perfect on the season, defeating No. 8 Labette 65-61 on Saturday afternoon at JCCC Gymnasium.

Sophomore guard Aryannah Harrison scored five of JCCC's seven points in the extra period to lead the Lady Cavaliers to the four-point victory and improve to 18-0 on the season. She had eight points total for the game.

Sophomore guard Mackenzie Hart led Johnson County with 19 points, followed by sophomore guard Nariyah Simmons with 16 and sophomore guard Lisa Thomas with 13. Simmons was also JCCC's top rebounder with six 

Labette's Nisea Burrell was the game's top scorer with 21 points. 

Both teams hit seven 3-pointers, but JCCC won the game at the free throw line, making 16-of-21 attempts compared to 4-of-8 for the Lady Cardinals. 

Johnson County travels to Hesston, Kan., Wednesday, January 25, to face a Larks team that is 9-7 overall and 0-3 in conference play.
