OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Several times this season, the No. 1-ranked Johnson County women's basketball team has started slowly then kicked into high gear in the middle quarters. Not Saturday against visiting Neosho County.

The Lady Cavaliers left little doubt after the first 10 minutes, leading 25-8. They continued build on that lead the rest of the game for an 89-41 victory to improve to 20-0 on the season and 4-0 in conference play.

Gabby Fuller put on a basketball clinic against the Panthers, pouring in a career high 26 points. She also tied her career high in rebounds with 15 to post her first double-double of the season and fifth of her career.  Fuller hit 7-of-11 shots with one 3-pointer, and hit 11 of 16 free throw attempts.

Last year's NJCAA D-II National Player of the Year Jalen Townsend bounced back after being held to just two points in the win at Highland last Wednesday. She finished with 19 points on 8-of-11 from the field and 3-of-4 beyond the arc. She also grabbed nine boards.  Townsend's first bucket of the day put her over 900 career points. She now stands at 917. She is on pace to become just the fifth player in program history to top 1,000 points.

Shonyah Hawkins and Aryannah Harrison provided quality minutes off the bench. Hawkins flirted with a double-double finishing with nine points and eight rebounds. She also had three assists. Harrison contributed six points and five boards.

Johnson County will look to keep its record perfect when they travel to Iola, Kan., to face Allen Community College. The Red Devils are 7-10 overall and 3-3 in conference play.
