OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - The No. 8-ranked Johnson County women's basketball team picked up a big win Wednesday night, downing No. 10 Kansas City Kansas 71-60.  The Lady Cavaliers outscored the Devils by nine in the first quarter and seven in the fourth that helped fuel the 11-point victory.  With the win, Johnson County improves to 21-3 overall and to 3-2 in the conference. Kansas City Kansas falls to 21-4 and 2-3. 

The victory also snapped a three-game in the series with the Blue Devils. Kansas City Kansas won all three meeting last year, including a 76-73 overtime victory in the semifinals of the Region VI Tournament. KCKCC went on to win a national title. 

Sophomore guard Christen Curry led JCCC with 15 points and eight rebounds. Sophomore guard Dallie Hoskinson followed with 13 points and sophomore guard Krystal Rice added 11 points. 

The Lady Cavaliers will host No. 3 and undefeated Highland (19-0/5-0) on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. Highland defeated Johnson County 63-55 January 22 to open conference play. The Scotties throttled Fort Scott Wednesday night, 90-32.
