No. 3 Lady Cavaliers improve to 7-0 with 100-43 win at Graceland

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The No. 3-ranked Johnson County Community College women's basketball remained undefeated on the season with a 100-43 blowout road victory over Graceland University, Feb. 12. 

Johnson County raced out to a big lead with 25-to-6 first quarter, then blew game wide open outscoring the Yellowjackets 36-to-14 in the second quarter, for a 61-20 halftime lead. 

Sophomore guard Gabby Fuller continued her stellar play, posting her third double-double of the season with 13 points and 13 rebounds. She also dished out six assists.  For the season, Fuller is averaging a double-double of 11.7 points and 11.0 rebounds per game. Her 11.0 rebound average ranks second in the conference. 

Three of the other four starters also finished in double figures scoring. Sophomore forward LaJahda Boyland finished with 15 points and five rebounds. 

Sophomore guard Presley Barton also had 15 points and upped her conference leading total to 27 made 3-point baskets. She also leads the conference 3-point accuracy at 50 percent. 

Sophomore guard Jaylen Townsend contributed 12 points and six boards. 

Freshman guard Marissa Ritchey came in off the bench to lead the Lady Cavaliers with a season-high 16 points. She also had three rebounds, two assists and two steals. 

Freshman guard Kierra Prim also had a career effort, pouring in 12 points. She perfect in her shooting, connecting on all five of her shot attempts, and both free throw attempts. She also tied her season high grabbing nine rebounds. 

Johnson County returns to action at home on Thursday, February 18, against Bethel College JV. Game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
