Women’s basketball improves to 4-0 with 85-31 win at Graceland

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The No. 2-ranked Johnson County women's basketball team upped their mark to 4-0 on this young season with an 85-31 road victory over Graceland University JV November 8.

Jaylen Townsend, the NJCAA D-II Player of the Year last season, and Kylee Massey each poured in 12 points.  Townsend hit 5-of-7 attempts and was 2-of-2 at the free throw line. Massey was even better from the field, hitting 6-of-7 shots. Her 12 points ties for her best effort of her career.

Kierra Prim, this week's KJCCC D-II Player of the Week, followed with 11 points and six rebounds. 

Other key efforts were turned by Nariyah Simmons (9 points, 3 rebounds); Nyayien Koang (8 points, 5 rebounds) and Mackenzie Hart (6 assists, 3 points). 

The Lady Cavaliers return to action on Friday and Saturday with home games against Southwestern Community College at 1 p.m. and Iowa Lakes Community College at noon.
