Six JCCC players score in double figures in blowout victory over Iowa Lakes

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Six players scored in double figures to lead the Johnson County women's basketball team to a blowout win over Iowa Lakes on Saturday afternoon at JCCC Gymnasium. 

Four players in the Lady Cavaliers starting lineup scored 10 points or more to carry JCCC to a 105-53 victory. 

Kierra Prim recorded her third double-double of the season, leading Johnson County with 21 points and 11 rebounds.  She hit 9-of-13 shots and was 3-of-4 at the free throw line. 

Coming off a career-high 29-point effort a day earlier, Jaylen Townsend followed with 19 points, four assists, two rebounds and two steals. 

Nariyah Simmons posted her best effort of the season with 17 points and Mackenzie Hart had 10 points and team-high five assists. 

Shonyah Hawkins and Aryannah Harrison came in off the bench with 12 and 10 points respectively. Harrison flirted with a double-double finishing with nine boards. 

The Lady Cavalier will look to improve to 7-0 on the season Wednesday, November 17 when the host Metropolitan Community College at 5:30 p.m.
