
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The 14-ranked Johnson County women's basketball team improved to 15-0 on the season with a dominate 72-38 victory over Southeast on Sunday afternoon at the JCCC Gymnasium.
The Lady Cavaliers used a balance attack with eight players posting six points or more. Sophomore guards Mackenzie Hart and Nariyah Simmons each poured in 11 points. Hart was 5-of-12 shooting along with seven rebounds, three assists and three steals. Simmons hit 4-of-15 shots with a trey and had three steals.
Other key performances were turned in by sophomore guard Aryanna Harrison (9 points, 5 rebounds), freshman guard Saige Grampsas (8 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals), sophomore guard Lisa Thomas (7 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists), freshman guard Telia Graham (7 points, 5 rebounds), sophomore forward LaJahda Boyland (6 points, 7 rebounds), sophomore guard Janaya Washington (6 points, 2 steals) and freshman guard Jazzy Klinge (5 points, 5 rebounds).
Southeast was led by Matalayn Campbell with eight points.
Johnson County opens conference play on Saturday, January 14 at Kansas City Kansas (10-4). Tip is scheduled for 1 p.m.
