Hart flirts with triple-double to lead JCCC to 78-54 win at Miami Dade

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County guard Mackenzie Hart registered her best career game in a Lady Cavaliers uniform last Wednesday while leading her team to a 78-54 victory at Miami Dade. 

The sophomore out of Olathe West poured in 25 points, dished out 10 assists and was one rebound shy of becoming just the sixth player in team history to post a triple-double. Her 25 points and 10 assists are new career game highs, and her nine rebounds matched her career high. 

Hart hit 10-of-19 shots, including 2-of-5 from 3-point range, and was 3-of-4 at the free throw line.

Sophomore guard Nariyah Simmons, the team's leading scorer through 14 games at 16.8 per game, followed with 15 points, eight rebounds and three assists.

Sophomore guard Aryannah Harrison also topped double digits finishing with 10. She also grabbed seven boards. 

Freshman guard Jazzy Klinge was JCCC's top player off the bench with nine points, seven rebounds and three steals.

The No. 4-ranked Lady Cavaliers return to the hardwood on Thursday, January 5 when they host Metropolitan at 5:30 p.m.
