Lady Cavaliers improve to 14-0 with 81-53 win over Tabor JV

OVERLAND PARK, Kan – The No. 2-ranked Johnson County women's basketball team improved to 14-0 on the season Monday night, with an 81-53 victory over Tabor College JV. While the margin ended up 28 points, Tabor kept the game close through the first two quarters, trailing by only five points at the break. 

Johnson County took control of the game in the third quarter, outscoring the Bluejays 22-4, fueled by an 18-0 run to end the quarter. 

Guard Kierra Prim led all scorers with 25 points hitting 11-of-15 shots along with three free throws. She also had five rebounds, five steals and an assist.  

Shonyah Hawkins was the only other JCCC player to finished double figures. She posted 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting and two free throws. 

Nyayien Koang followed with eight points and four boards, and Mackenzie Hart contributed six points, six assists and seven rebounds.

Johnson County has one game remaining before the winter break traveling to Beatrice, Neb., to face Southeast on Saturday, December 11. They return to action on Wednesday, January 5 when they host North Platte at 2 p.m.
