JCCC women’s basketball keeps winning, extends home court streak to 57 straight

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The No. 4-ranked Johnson County women's basketball team improved to 5-0 on the season with a pair of victories over the weekend. The Cavaliers defeated Iowa Lakes 80-52 on Friday evening and followed with a 90-45 blowout over Southwestern Saturday afternoon. The wins also extended JCCC record home court win streak to 57 straight games.

Sophomore guard Jazzy Klinge had a big weekend, scoring 18 points in each of the wins while shooting over 60 percent from the field. She also grabbed 13 rebounds. 

Sophomore guard Saige Grampsas also posted double digits scoring in both contests, contributing 12 points in each. She also had 11 assists and 10 rebounds.

Freshman guard Taliyah Scott flirted with a triple-double against Southwestern, finishing with a line of eight points, 10 rebounds and nine assists. She contributed 12 points in the win over Iowa Lakes. 

Freshman forward Micah Landry finished with a game high 10 boards and six points against the Lakers and followed with 10 points against Southwestern. 

Sophomore forward Grace Lynch had a career effort in the win over Southwestern, pouring in a career high 23 points. 

Johnson County will look move the streak to 58 straight Tuesday night when they host Southeast Community College. Opening tip is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
