Prim carries JCCC to victory with career-best 30 points

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Kierra Prim poured in a career-high 30 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to lead No. 2-ranked Johnson County to a 94-65 victory over Neosho County Saturday afternoon in Chanute, Kan. It is Prim's team-leading 14th double-double on the season, which rank as the fifth most recorded in a season. 

Four other Lady Cavaliers joined her in double figures. Shonyah Hawkins came in off the bench with 16 points and five rebounds. Nariyah Simmons followed with 13, five assists and three boards. Gabby Fuller recorded 11 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals and Jaylen Townsend had 10 points three rebounds. 

Point guard Mackenzie Hart matched her season high with nine assist to go along with seven points and six rebounds. 

Johnson County stand 26-1 overall with two games remaining both against Allen Community College. JCCC travels to Iola Monday, February 21 and host the Red Devils on Thursday, February 24 at 5:30 p.m. That game can be heard on 1660 The Bet on the Audacy app.
