OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Allen gave the No. 3-ranked Johnson County women's basketball all it could handle, but the No. 3-ranked Johnson County women's basketball team improved to 22-0 on Saturday afternoon at JCCC Gymnasium with a 58-47 win over Allen.

As customary this season, the Lady Cavaliers jumped out to an early double-digit lead, opening up a 10-point margin after the opening period. They upped their lead to 17 at the half and appeared to be on its way to another blowout victory. That did not happen.

Johnson County went ice cold the final two quarters, scoring just 16 total points, their lowest second half output of the season. JCCC hit just 4-of-21 shots including 0-for-9 from 3-point range. Fortunately, they were 8-for-8 at the free throw line and Allen wasn't much better shooting either, making just 7-of-30 attempts combined in the third and fourth quarters.

JCCC's starters accounted for 54 of the team's 58 points as four finished in double figures led by sophomore guard Lisa Thomas with 14. She also grabbed seven rebounds.

Sophomore guards Nariyah Simmons and Aryannah Harrison followed with 12 each and sophomore forward LaJahda Boyland added 10 points and a game-high nine rebounds.

Sophomore guard Mackenzie Hart was held to six points, her second lowest output of the season, but also finished with seven rebounds.

The victory not only extended the Lady Cavaliers home court win streak to 48 straight, but it also gave head coach Ben Conrad his 500th victory as a community college coach, with 429 as JCCC's head coach.  Conrad had 71 wins in three seasons at Des Moines Area from 2005-08.

Johnson County will look to extend both its season and home court winning streaks when they host Kansas City Kansas on Wednesday, February 8 at 5:30 p.m.
