OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – There was little doubt after the second quarter that the No. 2 ranked Johnson County women's basketball team would extend their home court win streak 59 straight. The Lady Cavaliers built a five-point lead after the first quarter, then outscored Des Moines Area 14-2 in the second for a 32-15 lead at the break. They went on to win 73-38 on Sunday afternoon, improving to 9-0 on the season and 8-0 at home.

Sophomore guard Saige Grampsas, last week's KJCCC D-II Player of the Week, poured in a career high 23 points, hitting 8-of-13 shots and 7-of-11 from 3-point range. Her seven treys tie for 11th on JCCC's single game chart. Grampsas has scored in double figures in eight of nine games this season and is the team's leading scorer 14.4 points per game.

Also in double figures were freshman guard Maizen Williams with 11 and sophomore forward Grace Lynch and freshman guard Taliyah Scott each with 10. Scott also dished out seven assists. She currently leads the conference and is tied for fourth in the NJCAA averaging 6.7 assists per game.

Johnson County will look to extend their home court win streak to 60 straight on Monday night, November 27, when they host undefeated and No. 4 ranked North Central Missouri (7-0). Tip is scheduled for 5:30 p.m
