Hart named WBCA honorable mention All-American

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Women's Basketball Coaches Association announced its 2022-23 WBCA Two-Year College Coaches' All-America team and Johnson County Community College sophomore guard Mackenzie Hart was an honorable mention selection. She is the 17th player in team history to be honored as a WBCA All-American, and the 14th player selected under head coach Ben Conrad.

Earlier this season, Hart earned first-team Division II All-Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference and All-Region VI/Plains District honors and became the sixth player in team history to be selected MVP of the conference. In addition, she was named the KJCCC D-II Player of the Week four times during the 2022-23 season.

Hart is averaging 14.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.7 steal per game. She is shooting 46.3 percent from the field, 39.3 percent from 3-point range and 82.8 percent at the free throw line. Hart ranks second in the conference in scoring average, second in 3-point field goal accuracy, third in made 3-point field goals (55), fourth in total assists (117), fifth in assists per game and fifth in field goal accuracy. She has scored in double figures 25 times and was the team's leading scorer in 10 games. During the season, Hart was selected as the KJCCC D-II Player of the Week four times, earning the honor in weeks three, seven, 11 and 14.

An all-conference and all-district selection last year, Hart is averaging 10.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.2 steals over her career. Her 285 total assists currently rank her eighth all-time. 

Last season, Hart earned third-team D-II All-KJCCC and All-Region VI/Plains Disrrict after averaging 6.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game. She led the conference and ranked eighth in the NJCAA in total assists with 168. That total ranks tied for eighth on JCCC's season chart. 

Hart came to JCCC after starting four years at Olathe West High School. As a senior, she was rated the No. 16 best guard in the state of Kansas by MaxPreps.com, and No. 32 best player in the state and No. 7 guard by Prep Girls Hoops.
