OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Women's Basketball Coaches Association announced its 2025-25 WBCA Two-Year College Coaches' All-America team and Johnson County Community College sophomore point guard Taliyah Scott was an honorable mention selection. She is the 19th player in team history to be honored as a WBCA All-American, and the 16th player selected under head coach Ben Conrad.

"I am so proud of her," said Conrad. "She is making a push to be the winningest point guard we have ever had, and that is saying something. She's been such a consistent person with her approach in her effort for two years. This is a tremendous honor and very much deserving."

Earlier this week, Scott earned second-team All-Region 6 Division II and All-Kansa Jayhawk Community College Conference Division-II honors. In addition, she was also selected the KJCCC D-II Player of the Week in week 14.

Scott currently averages 8.4 points, 6.4 assists, 4.8 rebounds and 1.6 steals. She leads the conference and ranks fourth in the NJCAA with 198 assists and her 64 steals are fourth in the conference standings.  Her 198 assists have her tied for the third-most in a season at JCCC, and her 374 career stats also stand third and needs just four more to take over the second spot all-time. Scott reached double figures scoring 10 times and topped 10+ assists three times.

This season, Scott has helped lead Johnson County to the fourth undefeated regular season in program history at 30-0, a conference title, No. 2 national ranking all season and earn an at-large berth to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.

For her career, Scott has dished out 374 assists which currently ranks her third all-time. She is just three shy of tying Emily Mayo for second (1992-93) and 24 away from Jacky Smith, the all-time leader (2005-07). Over her 66 career games, she is 9.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 5.7 assists. She also has helped lead the program to a mark of 64-2 with two conference championships, one region title, two NJCAA Tournament appearances and a national runner-up finish.
